Janlo & Melanie

According to Janlo, their eyes first met in a passing glance, a fleeting one, but a moment just long enough to lure him into embarking on an intriguing journey. An adventure filled with the promise of the ultimate discovery…

Melanie, a stylish little busy-body served at her local church but the demands on the day meant she took little note of the handsome guy at first. But when Janlo started playing the drums in the band later that year, “I would notice him occasionally,” – she blushingly admits.

When he finally mustered up the courage to introduce himself, unbeknownst to him, she wasn’t feeling too well and the quick introduction left a lot to be desired.

Not one for being easily discouraged, Janlo with the help of a few friends organised a social – and this time he didn’t leave anything to chance and they spent the rest of the night talking non-stop.

“The next day he called me up for a coffee and a walk on the beach. There was so much fun and laughter and from then on we spent almost every day together. To say the least, we could not get enough of each other.”

After a trip to visit good friends of ours, we stopped at the beach for a walk. There was no one there and it was a beautiful day. Janlo asked if he could read something that he had written to me and even though I had no idea what about to transpire, he read this beautiful piece about me and his dream for our future. That’s when he got on one knee and asked me to marry him.

We wanted to get married as soon as possible and literally planned our wedding in eight weeks. There was little time to second guess yourself. I have so many talented friends and family members who all worked together to help pull it off.

We decided to go with a black, gold and white theme – inspired by my gorgeous ring of course. I just wanted our wedding to be elegant, not too over the top but not too simple either. Because of the time constraints, we didn’t go for anything that would take a lot of time or would require too much effort.

I knew everything was absolutely perfect once I got to the end of the aisle and placed my hand in Janlo’s.
